THE BEGINNING

From Fiji
to Hawaiʻi

George Brooks Veikoso grew up in Fiji and moved to Hawaiʻi in 1987, beginning a journey that would help reshape the sound of island music for generations.

His voice carried the warmth of the Pacific while drawing from reggae, R&B, soul, jazz, and contemporary island music. The result was unmistakably his own.

Hawaiʻi became the center of his recording career and the place where FIJI grew from a rising artist into one of the Pacific’s most recognizable musical voices.

THE MUSIC

A sound that traveled

FIJI built music that felt deeply rooted in the Pacific while reaching far beyond it.

His songs moved freely between island reggae, R&B, soul, jazz, and pop without losing their sense of place. That blend helped shape a modern Pacific sound that listeners could immediately recognize.

His recordings became part of everyday life across Hawaiʻi and the wider Pacific — played at parties, on long drives, at family gatherings, and anywhere people came together.
